Sea Duck Hunting out of Boat
Guided Seaduck hunting in the open waters of the Chincoteague Bay and the Atlantic Ocean—including specialized options near Saxis, VA. Offering a thrilling experience targeting species such as Scoters (Black, Surf) and Oldsquaw. These private, non-mixed, boat-based hunts typically start slightly later than conventional morning hunts to align with optimal tidal movements and bird activity. This option is the least weather sensitive Seaduck hunt.
Layout Hunts
Hunting out of a layout boat is a great way to hunt Seaducks where we don't have blinds located. This is more for mobile hunters. In a lite chop you need to be able to get from the boat into the layout. You will start in the layout around sunrise. The rest of your party will be on the boat with the guide. We switch hunters out of the layouts every 30 to 45 minutes. Layout hunts are weather sensitive, so there are different locations based on weather. Our main targeted species for layouts are Seaducks.
Normal Everyday hunt
On the day of your hunt, you will be set up in your blind approximately 30 minutes before legal light. Your guide will remain nearby throughout the hunt to set out decoys, retrieve birds and relocate you as necessary. We often move a few times throughout the hunt depending on weather, tides and the type of waterfowl you are hunting. You could be in a bank blind, pond, or pole blind(weather sensitive). Our targeted species include Divers, Brant, Puddle Ducks, And Seaducks.
